Examine the meaning of faith lived out and the logical arguments in this book.

Just heard about Neighbours' Day
Hebrews 13:2 "Be sure to welcome strangers into your home. By doing this, some people have welcomed angels as guests, without even knowing it".
Have a go.

What are the dangers of seeing the bible only as text? Just as literature, law, science, moral values etc.
In as much as the writing of the bible is inspired by God so too must the reading of the bible be inspired by God.

As you come to him, the Living Stone - rejected by human beings but chosen by God and precious to him - you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

It's all Greek to me
Here's an exegesis of a section of this book (i.e. an analysis of the book in its original culture and intent), which is longer than the book itself! It goes back the original Greek text.

Consider keeping a journal or bible blog
3 John – This letter refers to real people; it mentions Gaius, Diotrephes, Demetrius. I think the main purpose of the letter is to encourage support and hospitality for people who are “traveling teachers”, and to warn against the control-freak Diotrephes, who is slandering John and refusing to support teachers of the truth.
Again, he is reluctant to write all of his concerns down on Papyrus/parchment.
There must have been a concern about his comments being read by the wrong people… these epistles were written at a time of high persecution.

Taken from Craig's Bible Blog

Rev. Dr. Graig Flach is an Associate Pastor at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church at Lake Oswego, Oregon who writes a blog about the bible passages he is reading. Wouldn't it be cool if there were heaps of students, like Zane, who were writing such blogs too. It would be a huge encouragement to engage and apply scripture to our lives.
